To all of our wonderful walkers:
We did it!
Thank you so much for all the passion and hard work you gave to the 14th Annual Stride for Strays… and for our very first $100,000 plus event!
Our success was the result of all the love and dedication you and your supporters tirelessly showed to the end.
I know it was not always easy to hear the sound system at the park, so let me repeat part of Ken’s message: Your efforts are paying off! Rebuilding plans are solid now and we will continue to drop a line as the progression develops. But in addition to measuring against our rebuilding efforts, we measure against the lives that are saved… against the “intake and euthanasia rates” at our county shelter. Our mission is to provide quality services affordable to allow everyone, regardless of income, the ability to keep their pets in their homes and avoid unwanted litters that end up with short lives… and the numbers show we are accomplishing this. Recently released statistics show that the cats and dogs dropped off at the shelter have declined considerably and that the corresponding euthanasias have dropped by around 80% since our opening in 2006 — and continues to decline! Of course ACT can never claim to have moved that giant mountain alone.. But we know that we (and you) took more than a few loads of that dirt….
Again, my humble thanks..
Please feel free to give me any feedback on the event— what we did good and what could be improved—so that we can make next year even better!
